Juan Paredes

Bulerias Festeras Workshop (2019)

Juan Paredes is an acclaimed Flamenco dancer and teacher from Seville. He is one of the few touring Flamenco masters who is certified as a teacher.

Paredes graduated with honors in 2007 from the Conservatorio Superior de Música y Danza de Sevilla and was the lead dancer of the companies of Cristina Hoyos and Mariemma.  He was also a featured artist danced at the Bienal de Sevilla, a major bi-annual Flamenco festival held in Seville.  His accomplishments as a dancer helped him gain roles in films, such as  "Montoyas y Tarantos” (1989).

Paredes teaches classes of bulerías por fiesta, a style of Flamenco dance that is about laughing and playfulness, rather than the dramatic, often serious flair, seen in theaters. Around the world, dancers, guitarists, percussionists, singers, and even those who would call themselves “non-artists” flock to his classes for the joy of moving to the infectious sounds of Flamenco music.
